As we continue our series of messages on iLive today, we want to focus on the "Church" component of life. Although it is not more important than our spiritual lives, or our relationships with family, "Church" was rated third out of ten when we polled our congregation in February concerning relative importance. For some it may be difficult to separate church life from spiritual life but they are indeed different in that church may be a part of the greater, i.e., our personal relationship with God.
Today we want to answer the questions, "What is church?" and in so doing we will discover what it is not. We will naturally consider the importance of "Church" and touch on the phenomenon of "Consumer Church." However, most important of all we will attempt to answer the question. "Why Church?" Here we see how our personal spiritual lives and our "Church" lives often run on what we might term "parallel rails."
