Shortening Lifespan

Man was meant to live forever, but he chose knowledge of good and evil rather than life.

Genesis 5:27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.

The Flood

Genesis 6:3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Genesis 47:9 And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.

Psalm 90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Life is short

Job 7:6 My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope.

Job 9:25 Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good.

Isaiah 38:12 Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

Psalm 102:11 My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.
